PERSONALITY: As the eldest son of House Oldflowers, Isa was always meticulous when it came to preparing himself as the family’s heir. He required himself to execute any task flawlessly in order to prove himself as a fit successor. With his father’s health confining him to his bed, Isa wished to restore glory to his house.

With heavy lidded, dark eyes and straw colored hair, the young heir looked a rather dour individual. Whispers surrounding the house stated that he was the culmination of his parent’s sour union. As a child, Isa found himself restrained from frivolous pleasantries – as both of his parents attempted to rigorously carve him into what they had considered to be the ‘best’ path for him.

Isa also proved to be a child who learned quickly. He was only whipped once (though the whipping he endured would cause minor, although permanent, damage to vision in his right eye. This incident culminated itself as a turning point in Isa’s young life. It had him gravitate more towards his mother rather than his father. He became significantly more attached to the woman, making the conscious effort to follow her advice. It also had him learn to veil his intentions. He still wished for his father’s approval and worked tirelessly to win it – though he found himself caring little for the man himself.

As a young man, Isa followed his mother’s guidance and worked on distancing himself from those around him. He repressed his emotions and became a man of few expressions. Isa fought to become a fit Lord and took his studies very seriously. He was only pleased if he could excel. Single-minded and stubborn, he worked incessantly on the mastery of one subject before moving to the next. It was through his hard work and perseverance that he had begun to be commonly referred as a ‘Master of Three Arts:’ swordsmanship, marksmanship, and the written art.

While Isa demonstrated remarkable skill in what he was taught, he has trouble connecting with others on an emotional level. Preened by his mother to never show weakness, Isa became a man who was seen as ‘hollow’ to those who spoke with him face-to-face. He rarely communicated his personal feelings on anything that mattered, which left him nearly friendless. While he desired a network of people in which he could write letters to in good faith, often times his cold demeanor refrained him from making those sorts of ties.

After his arranged marriage with a noble from the Crownlands (OOC Note: I was thinking House Sunglass, but really, I do not have a preference. I am flexible!), Isa has relocated to King’s Landing in order to exercise his influence (read: pocket book) in hopes of furthering his family’s name. By the time the two had relocated, they were already expecting their first child.

While Isa remained a reserved man, his wife has had a prominent hand in working him out of his shell – which has put her at odds with Isa’s mother. Despite being a marriage of pragmatism, the two seem to be deeply devoted to one another. As of the start of the story, Isa has been fretting over the promise of impending fatherhood while also attempting to continue his focus on his own political advancement.

MOTIVATION: Isa is currently faced with a few motivations.

Right now, Isa wishes to secure the place of House Oldflowers as an influence not only within The Reach but also within the realm. He is working to make a name for himself with the knowledge that his father is not long for this world. He refers often to his mother, Lady Daenys Velaryon, for counsel.

With the promise of a child on the way, Isa is also looking to secure his family unit so that they may be ready to raise a child. This wish is currently making it hard for him to completely focus on his own advancement – as he spends much of his time fretting over perfecting the oncoming challenge of fatherhood.
